The CHP (Republican People’s Party) organized a rally in front of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) building in Saraçhane to mark the 100th day since Ekrem İmamoğlu, the ousted mayor, was detained as part of a corruption investigation. As the rally ended, the police intervened with pepper spray against the group trying to proceed to the Bozdoğan Aqueduct, leading to clashes between the police and the crowd. Some protesters were reported to have fainted due to the effects of the pepper spray, and several were taken into custody during the altercation.
